Every day, Lime keeps Washington DC moving – so everyone can get to where they need to be.
Whether it’s travelling for work or class, to the store or to local businesses, getting to medical appointments - or just seeing more of the city they call home, millions of riders have traveled more than 43 million miles across the city since 2017.
And now we’re investing $17 million in the scale and reliability of our operations – to deliver even more affordable, accessible transport that Washington can count on. And we’re continuing to champion initiatives like our Access Program and Lime Prime – so all of our neighbors can afford to use our service.

Lime's Five-Point Plan
1. New vehicles
Lime has always brought our best new hardware and technological solutions to Washington - including launching our new LimeBike model here this year! Now we’re running a major fleet refresh across 8,000 e-bikes and e-scooters to ensure people across DC have access to Lime’s newest vehicles.
2. Cutting-edge innovation
We're upgrading our tech even further, bringing our most innovative hi-tech solutions to improve parking, encourage safe riding, and deter irresponsible or illegal riding, including underage riding. This includes our AI-assisted parking photo review system, expanding our Lime Vision sidewalk riding deterrence and punishment tech, and responsible riding tech to identify prohibited riding behavior. We’ve also invested in AI-assisted solutions that verify a rider’s age before they travel - to make sure only those of legal age are using our service.
3. Delivering operational excellence
Since 2017, we’ve continued investing in our vehicles, our parking infrastructure, and our on-the-ground Foot Patrol team across DC - building a network that meets the needs of the city.
Bolstering our operations team is a crucial part of providing people with rides they can rely on. Our patrollers and warehouse team are working hard every day, getting bikes and scooters to where they need to be, maintaining and fixing our fleet, and helping keep the streets of DC clear and safe for all.
4. Opening up DC for all
We know getting around can be expensive - and we believe everyone should have the opportunity to access the essential transport they need.
That’s why we’ve championed the Lime Access program - an initiative that’s the first of its kind in our industry, offering unlimited trips on a low monthly fee to riders on low incomes - and which has facilitated more than 4.5 million trips since the program’s launch.
And we’re continuing to invest in schemes like LimePrime – a monthly subscription service that gives riders discounted flat-rate pricing on rides up to 20 minutes.
5. Championing our communities
Better transport builds stronger communities. From our work with the Washington Area Cyclist Association, who advocate for a more cycling-friendly city, to Building Bridges Across the River, a non-profit focused on fostering health, arts, and economic equity and many more partners across the city we’re proud to work with local organisations to help make DC more connected, and give back to our local areas.
