Neutron Holdings, Inc. dba Lime and its affiliates (collectively “Lime,” “we ,” “us,” or “our”) are strongly committed to transparency, and we want you (“you” or “your”) to understand how we collect, use, share and protect personal information about you.

This Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) describes how Lime handles personal information in connection with Lime's websites, Lime-owned vehicles, and related mobile applications and services (collectively, the “Services”), and when you otherwise interact with us.

When specified, this policy also describes our data practices related to logistics providers or the personnel of logistics providers.

We may change this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will inform you about any material changes. Your continued use of the Services after we have published the update to this privacy notice constitutes your consent to the updates regarding the processing of personal information about you in accordance with the updated privacy notice. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may not continue using the Services.

We have prepared a summary of this notice to make it easier for you to navigate it, and to help you become familiar with the principles of our personal data processing in the most convenient way. We recommend that you read the entire notice, as the summary does not replace the full notice.

Summary of the Privacy Notice

  • Types of personal information we collect: The types of information we collect depend on how you use the Services and interact with us, and include: account details; government-issued IDs; location data; personal information received from third-party services you use to connect to the Services, such as your profile data; contact details; data from your browser, computer or mobile device; personal information collected by cookies; information you share in the services; information received from our third-party partners, such as advertising partners.

If you are a logistics provider, we collect contact details, official government-issued ID, business activity information such as a business license, and bank account details.

If you are an employee of a logistics provider, we collect contact details and information about the work you perform for us.

  • How we use personal information: We use personal information to provide you with Services, verify your government-issued ID and confirm your identity and that you are over 18, monitor, track, and service our vehicles, process payments, registrations or donations, contact you about your account, tailor ads to you, comply with the law, enforce our user agreement, and share personal information with third parties such as universities and authorities.

If you are a service provider or an employee of a service provider, we use personal information to enable you to provide us with services, receive updates, pay for the services you provide, and track our vehicles.

  • Our use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We use AI systems to support our business operations, and for customer service, software development, organizational process optimization, information security, and to meet regulatory requirements related to local parking laws. This use involves risks such as hallucinations, biases, and exposure of confidential information.

  • Who we share your personal information with: We share personal information about you with our service providers and business partners, government, local and regulatory enforcement bodies, law enforcement authorities, local authorities, affiliated companies, and in the event of a business reorganization (for example, as part of a sale, merger, or other change in control or business structure).

  • Advertising and data analytics: We allow others to provide data analytics services and display ads on our Services and on our behalf across the internet and in mobile apps. This processing is done using cookies and other tracking technologies.

  • Our legal basis for using your personal information: We rely on your consent to process personal information about you for the purposes described in this privacy notice, and your continued use of the Services constitutes consent for us to process your personal information as detailed in this privacy notice. You do not have to provide us with personal information, but if you do not, you will not be able to use the services.

  • How we transfer your personal information: Personal information about you is collected and stored by our affiliated companies and service providers (such as companies that provide us with information security services, data storage and cloud infrastructure, identity verification services, etc.) outside the borders of the State of Israel. Your consent to the terms of this privacy notice also constitutes your consent to the transfer of personal information about you outside the borders of the State of Israel.

  • How long we keep personal information: We retain personal information about you for as long as necessary to fulfill the processing purposes outlined in this privacy notice and as required by law, for the duration needed to provide the Services, for periods required by local authorities or relevant enforcement agencies, or for the applicable statute of limitations period (whichever is longer) – even after your account is deleted.

  • Your rights: We will grant you rights regarding your personal information, including the right to stop receiving marketing content, the right to access, the right to correct, and the right to delete personal information transferred from the European Economic Area. You can also change the types of notifications you receive from us and access certain personal information about you through the app.

  • How we protect personal information: We implement systems and procedures for information security to protect personal information about you from misuse and unauthorized use. We also ensure that our service providers implement security systems and restrict access to personal information. These systems reduce security risks but do not provide complete protection and are not immune to failures. Therefore, we do not guarantee that personal information about you will be protected from harm or unauthorized access.


The Types of Personal information We Collect and Receive

The types of personal information we collect or receive depend on how you use and interact with our Services. In many cases, you can choose the personal information you provide to us, although if you choose not to provide certain personal information (such as account information), we will not be able to provide the Services. We use, disclose and retain this personal information for the purposes described further below. The types of personal information we collect include:

  • Account information such as your name, ID number, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, address details, and payment information such as your credit card details.

  • Identification documentation: in order to use certain Services, we will also require you to provide photos of your government issued identification (such as your national identity card, driver's license or passport).

  • Trip and Location data when you sign up and use the Services. For example, to accurately show you Lime vehicles near you, it is necessary to collect and record the location of your mobile device. Lime also collects location data directly from Lime vehicles including when a Lime user is riding (such as start and end times and associated locations). We also process the costs associated with your trip based on the journey taken.

  • Selfies: when you use certain products that require a government-issued driver's license or age verification, or when you participate in one of our specific benefit offerings, we will ask you (and your guest(s), if applicable) to take a selfie which we collect.

  • Environmental visual data: images of the surrounding environment captured by any Lime camera-enabled vehicles are used to detect road and sidewalk boundaries and other environmental surroundings for safety purposes.

  • Lime for Business Contact Information: if you participate in Lime for Business, we process your work email address, employer name, assigned office location, or other information relevant to your business profile. We either receive this information from your employer or we collect this information during your business account setup.

  • If you link, connect, or login to Lime with a third-party service (e.g. Facebook), the third-party service will send us personal information such as your profile information from that service.

  • When you ask for customer service, support or other assistance, you can choose to provide us with your contact information so we can better respond to your requests and we will keep information about your engagement with our support services.

  • Lime and third parties (such as Facebook) collect information from your browser, computer, or mobile device, which provide us with technical information such as your device's IP address and device token when you access or use the Services. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like pixels and tags) to provide our Services, including to protect the security of the Service, remember your settings and to gather analytics information about you. Third parties will use the technical information to provide measurement services and targeted ads. You can learn more about how we (and third parties) use cookies and similar technologies and how you can opt-out of the information being used for advertising purposes in our Cookies Policy.

  • User-generated content: we collect personal information you share on the Services such as when you participate in communities or other forums, or comment on our social media accounts or blog entries.

  • Personal information from third-party partners: we receive personal information about you when we use third-party partners such as marketing and advertising partners, such as social media networks.

If you are a logistics provider, we collect the following types of personal information:

  • information submitted as part of your application to engage with Lime as a logistics provider, such as contact information and government issued identification;

  • business operation information, such as business license, tax registration and insurance information; and

  • your bank account details.

If you are personnel of a logistics provider, we collect the following types of additional personal information:

  • contact information; and

  • details of the work you carry out such as information about the vehicles you charge and deploy and other services provided for Lime.

How We Use Personal information

We use personal information about you, including information about your location, to:

  • provide the Services to you at your request including to manage your account and ride history and to enable you to receive discounted rides if you participate in Lime for Business. This includes where you access the Services via Integrated Partner services. Lime is the controller for this processing;

  • confirm your government-issued ID (if provided) is not currently linked to any other Lime account;

  • confirm your identity and that you are old enough to use our products by verifying your selfie matches your government issued identification (e.g., driver’s license) such as by using facial recognition technology; In general – our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18, use of the Services by individuals under 18 years of age is prohibited, and we ask that you do not provide us with personal information about individual under 18.

  • monitor, track and service the Lime vehicles, including when they are in use by you. Where applicable, this includes collecting images and/or video footage of your ride; for example, we use environmental visual data to improve safety;

  • process payments, subscriptions or donations and any discounts or special offers such as free unlocks;

  • provide region-specific features or offerings;

  • communicate with you about your account, interactions or transactions including service-related announcements such as changes to our policies. As allowed by local law, we may also send you surveys or marketing communications on behalf of Lime and/or third parties, including information about features and enhancements to our Services;

  • personalize advertisements to you (for more information, see the “Advertising and Analytics” section below);

  • inform you that you can benefit from Lime for Business as a result of your employer having a corporate account with us, along with sharing information with your employer (as explained below);

  • optimize, develop and improve our Services, including via the creation and training of machine learning models. To do this we will use third party analytics providers to understand how the Service is being used and to help us to improve the Services;

  • where necessary, comply with our legal obligations including to meet regulatory or local law requirements (for example, we use and disclose deidentified personal information in accordance with our rights and obligations under applicable law);

  • detect, investigate, and prevent activities that may violate Lime's policies or terms or be illegal, including in cases of traffic or parking violations or accidents, and process transfers of reports, payment notices, or fines related to such traffic offences or violations. This may involve sharing personal information with government agencies, such as law enforcement agencies and municipal authorities, which may be located outside of your home country; and

  • report, share and collaborate with third parties such as universities, local government authorities and other third parties to build or improve transportation infrastructure and/or improve our offering, as described in the “Who Do We Share Personal information about you With?” section below.

In addition, if you are a logistics provider or personnel of a logistics provider, we use personal information about you to: allow you to provide your services for us; have visibility into and compensate you for the services you provide to Lime; and track Lime vehicles.

Our Use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) Systems

Lime uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems to support its ongoing business operations, including in the areas of customer service, software development, and organizational process optimization. The use of these technologies is subject to and in accordance with the details set out in this privacy notice.

This section describes Lime’s use of such systems, the types of data processed, the purposes, the potential risks, the safeguards implemented by Lime to address them, and is intended to ensure maximum transparency regarding Lime’s use of such systems.

  • Description of the systems and their purpose: We use advanced AI systems, including:
    • Google Gemini – to improve the productivity of our employees, including drafting documents and analyzing data.

    • GitHub Copilot and Claude Code – for more efficient and higher-quality code writing.

    • ForeThought – to automate responses to routine inquiries and efficiently route complex inquiries.

    • Captur – to analyze images taken by riders at the end of a ride, for the purpose of enforcing local parking regulatory requirements.

  • Types of personal information processed by these systems: As detailed in the section titled “Types of personal information we collect.”

  • Purposes of processing personal information by these systems:
    • Providing the Services.

    • Improving user experience.

    • Providing customer support.

    • Information security and fraud prevention.

    • Compliance with regulatory requirements, including local parking requirements.

  • Sharing of information: Information processed by these systems is shared with third parties, as detailed in this section and in the section titled “Who we share personal information about you with.” Lime does not permit external providers using AI systems on its behalf, or providers supplying AI systems to Lime, to use personal information processed by these systems for their own purposes, including training models or any other purposes not related to providing services to Lime.

  • Potential risks: The use of AI systems involves inherent risks, including:
    • Hallucinations – AI systems may produce results that are incorrect or incomplete, or based on outdated information.

    • Biases – AI systems are trained on publicly available data, which may contain inherent biases that can be reflected in the system’s output.

  • Retention of personal information: As detailed in the section titled “How long we keep personal information about you,” except for Google Gemini, which retains personal information for a period of 90 days.

  • Information security: As detailed in the section titled “How we protect personal information about you.”

  • How to exercise your rights regarding personal information processed by these systems: As detailed in the section titled “Your rights.”


Who Do We Share Personal Information About You With?

We share personal information about you with:

  • Our service providers and partners: We share personal information about you with our trusted service providers, partners, and their personnel who provide services to Lime such as hosting data and our infrastructure, providing ID verification services, processing payments and donations, supporting and improving the Services, performing customer service, or providing marketing and advertising services. For example, we share personal information with credit card issuers in order to process your payments and refunds.

  • Collaborations with third parties: After removing certain identifiers, such as your name, phone, and e-mail address (where provided), and combining the resulting information with similar information from other users, Lime will share personal information about you, including individual trip records and trip location (journey) history, with third parties for research, business or other purposes. For example, Lime partners with universities to collaborate on research projects such as understanding traffic and travel patterns in a city. Learn more about these collaborations here.

  • Government, municipal, regulatory and law enforcement agencies: We will share personal information about you with government, municipal, regulatory, and law enforcement agencies to meet federal, state, regulatory or local law requirements, as part of a judicial process, to detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud and other illegal activity, to address security or technical issues, or to prevent harm or injury to you, members of the public, our staff, other third parties, or ourselves; or if we need to do so to defend our legal rights or property, to take action regarding illegal activities or traffic offenses, or to enforce our contracts, such as our User Agreement. Including the processing of transfers of reports, payment notices, or fines related to traffic offences or violations.

  • Lime for Business employers: If you use Lime for Business, we will share personal information about you with your employer, including data about the rides you take as part of a corporate account. We share this information for reporting purposes, and as necessary to provide the Lime for Business services and to enable your employer to pay for your rides.

  • Integrated Partners: We share personal information about you with third party services which integrate or provide access to Lime vehicles and/or the Services on their platforms or that make their products available on our Services. For example, Lime has partnered with Uber so users can rent a Lime scooter through the Uber app.

  • Cities, local authorities and public transport operators: We share personal information about you with these recipients where necessary to fulfill conditions of our license or where necessary to operate in a particular city or location or for the purposes of city planning and understanding mobility insights, such as rides involving sidewalks. This may include the recipients contacting riders to request participation in surveys and integration into public transport operators' apps and journey planning apps. For example, in the UK, Lime partners with the Department for Transport (“DfT”) to assist the DfT to understand and build a picture of vehicle demand and to assess the safety of vehicles in the UK.

  • Lime affiliates: We will share personal information about you with Lime affiliate companies to help provide, maintain and improve the Services.

  • Business re-organization: We will also share personal information about you as part of a sale, merger, change in control or business restructuring.

Advertising and Analytics

We allow others to provide analytics services and serve advertisements on our Services and on our behalf across the web and in mobile apps. These entities use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and other technologies to collect information about your use of our Services and other websites and applications, including your IP address, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in mobile apps, links clicked, and conversion information. This information will be used by Lime and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our Services and other websites, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and better understand your online activity. Where Lime uses the Meta pixel (a type of cookie) to provide advertising to you, Lime and Meta Ireland are joint controllers for this processing. Lime and Meta Ireland have entered into a Controller Addendum to divide their respective responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulation in respect of this joint processing, for example, Lime is responsible for providing this notice to you and Meta Ireland is responsible for managing your individual rights relating to the joint processing. For information on how to exercise your rights with Meta Ireland in relation to the joint processing, and for information on how Meta Ireland subsequently processes your personal information as independent data controller, please see Meta Ireland’s Privacy Policy.

We also work with third parties to serve ads to you as part of customized campaigns on third-party platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram). As part of these ad campaigns, we or the third-party platforms will convert personal information about you, such as your email address and phone number, into a unique value that can be matched with a user account on these platforms to allow us to learn about your interests and serve you advertising that is customized to your interests. Note that the third-party platforms may offer you choices about whether you see these types of customized ads.

Except as noted in the Privacy Information for California Residents notice, we do not sell your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Our Legal Basis for Using Personal information about you

Lime relies on your consent to collect, use, share and otherwise process personal information about you for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, and your continued use of our Services constitutes valid consent for our processing of personal information as stated under this privacy notice. You know that you do not have an obligation to provide the information to Lime, but if you do not provide it, you will not be able to use the Services.

How We Transfer Personal information about you

As we offer our Services in many locations globally, we will transfer personal information about you to or from these locations for the purposes of providing you Services.

As detailed above, Lime relies on your consent to process personal information about you, and to the terms of this privacy notice. Your consent to Lime’s personal data processing practices, as detailed under this privacy notice, also constitutes consent to the storage of personal information about you outside the borders of the State of Israel, including in the United States.

Please note that outside of Israel, the level of protection for the right to privacy, and the authority of competent bodies regarding access to personal information about you, may differ from those in Israel.


How Long We Keep Personal information

We retain personal information about you for as long as necessary to fulfill the processing purposes outlined in this privacy notice and as required by law, for the duration needed to provide the Services, for periods required by local authorities or relevant enforcement agencies, or for the applicable statute of limitations period (whichever is longer) – even after your account is deleted.

For example, we will retain personal information as needed, even after your account is deleted:

  • To meet Lime’s accounting obligations, we will retain certain transaction-related information for a period of 7 years;

  • For reporting to enforcement bodies and local authorities or for transferring fines and payment notices;

  • To meet our obligation toward local and enforcement authorities to retain specific information, we retain information related to your use of the Services, including certain details such as your account information, usage data, and your ID document, for a period of 6 years from your last ride or from the day in which the fine or payment notice was transferred, or for the applicable statute of limitations;

  • For potential legal proceedings, we retain personal information for the applicable statute of limitations; and

  • For documentation and archiving purposes.

We also retain non-identifiable data and details without limitation. Where required, we delete or remove identifying details from information we no longer need in identifiable form.

Please note that when you delete your account, it may take us additional time to delete personal information about you (Subject to the above) from our databases and system logs. We will also retain personal information from deleted accounts to prevent fraud, collect fees, enforce the User Agreement, to comply with our legal obligations or enforce our legal rights, or as detailed above.

In addition, if you are a logistics provider or personnel of a logistics provider, Lime retains certain information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, Lime will keep some of personal information about you in order to comply with applicable tax, legal, reporting and auditing obligations and other requirements in the countries in which we operate.

Your Rights

We will grant you rights regarding personal information about you, in accordance with the legal requirements applicable to the processing of personal information about you by us, including the rights below.

To exercise your rights go to the Lime Privacy Center to submit your request. You can also contact Lime's Data Protection Officer via email at [email protected].

  • Right to Stop Receiving Marketing Materials From Us) - You have the right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes at any time, and such marketing by us is subject to your consent.

  • Right of access - You can access much of the personal information about you that we process by logging into your account. You can also request a copy of the personal information we have about you and information explaining how the personal information is used by contacting us at [email protected]. This right is subject to several legal limitations, such as information that must not be discovered under applicable law. We may refuse a request to access information, and will notify you of our refusal, in accordance with applicable law.

  • Right of rectification - You have the right to request that we rectify personal information about you if you find it to be inacurate, incomplete, unclear, or outdated. We may refuse your request for correction in accordance with applicable law. You may be able to edit this personal information in the Settings of the Lime app.

  • Right of erasure - You have the right to request that we delete personal information about you that was trasferred from the European Economic Area (EEA), if such information was not transferred to us from the EEA by you. This deletion request is subject to limitations under applicable law.

Please get in touch with us as set out in the "Who Is Responsible for Personal Information About Me?" section below if you would like to exercise any of these rights or in case you should have any concerns about how we process personal information about you. For security purposes, we may require that you follow certain steps in order to verify that you are the owner of a Lime account. For example, we may require that you have a verified email associated with your Lime account and that you get in touch with us using the verified email associated with your Lime account. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority for data protection - the Privacy Protection Authority.

  • Your Choices and How You Can Manage Personal information about you: We believe you should have choices about the collection, use and sharing of personal information about you. If you do not want Lime to collect personal information about you, please do not use the Services.

  • Emails and Other Communications: If you would like to change the types of communications you receive from us, including opting out of promotional communications from us, you may do so at any time by updating the communication preferences specified in your account profile. If you opt out of receiving promotional communications from us, we may continue to send non-promotional communications and other information about your use of the Service.

  • Accessing and Managing Personal information About You: If you have an account with Lime, you can review, change or delete certain personal information about you by logging into your account and editing your profile. You can change your mobile phone number or email address by using our in-app change feature. You can delete your Lime account at any time by selecting “Delete your account” from the Settings screen in the app, by submitting a request to us at [email protected] or by using the in-app "Submit a Request" feature. You can also go to the Lime Privacy Center to submit your request. If you are a logistic provider or personnel of a logistics provider and wish to delete your account, please email [email protected].
