Lime is partnering with Call2Recycle Canada—the country’s leading battery collection and recycling program—to responsibly recover and give new purpose to retired batteries from Lime e-bikes and e-scooters across Canada. We’re committed to managing our batteries beyond the ride and ensuring the materials have a second life.

Turning an ending into a beginning

E-transport is growing rapidly across Canada as more riders opt for affordable, eco-friendly ways to travel within their cities. This partnership ensures that when a battery reaches the end of its service life, it’s safely collected and managed—not as waste, but as a source of valuable materials ready for reuse.

Inside Canada’s coast-to-coast loop

Through Call2Recycle’s nationwide collection and recycling network, retired batteries from Lime’s Canadian fleet move through a safe and straightforward loop:

• Collect: We identify end-of-life batteries in our fleet and prepare them for safe handling.

• Transport: Call2Recycle coordinates compliant, coast-to-coast logistics so those batteries are safely transported to approved facilities.

• Reuse: At these facilities, valuable materials are recovered and reused, helping to minimize environmental impact and support a more circular supply chain.
