MARTA Transit Authority Partners With Lime To Increase Mobility Access In Atlanta

Lime and MARTA, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, have joined forces to help bring more affordable mobility options to low-income city residents.

Starting in June, the global leader in micromobility will be participating in monthly Fresh MARTA Market community festivals to help riders sign up for Lime Access - a low income program offering heavily discounted rides on Lime electric scooters.

“We are excited by our partnership with Lime and appreciate their focus on raising awareness around last-mile transportation needs,” said MARTA General Manager and CEO Jeffrey Parker. “Lime is not only committed to problem-solving, but they are ensuring that the solution is accessible and cost-effective.”

MARTA has long been a pillar of social and cultural connection in the Atlanta community. From their Artbound program promoting local dance, theater and live music to an ongoing series of sponsored events and neighborhood activities, the organization that keeps Atlanta moving has also taken a leading role in keeping it bound together as well.

The partnership with Lime comes in the wake of a successful collaboration between the two organizations during April 25’s National Get On Board Day.

More than 300 Atlantans showed up to the event to learn about the benefits of public transit, receive free scooter helmets and discount codes and sign up for the Lime Access program.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with MARTA,” said Nima Daivari, Lime’s Community Affairs Manager in Georgia. “In survey after survey we see a consistent complementary relationship between micromobility and mass transit. Lime’s participation at Fresh MARTA Markets will help bring economical and equitable scooter access to low-income individuals demonstrating how we can grow that symbiotic relationship even further.”
