Ride Responsibly
Safety first. Adventure second. That’s how we roll.
We’re committed to keeping our riders and cities safe. Remember to follow your local laws and the rules set out in our User Agreement before hopping on a Lime. Violating our rules, as set out in our User Agreement, can lead to warnings, compliance fees, account suspension or even permanent removal. We may use vehicle sensors and automated tools to help detect prohibited riding behaviors and enforce these rules.
Rules of the road
Don’t roll where you stroll
Use bike lanes when available for riding—leave sidewalks for walking and windowshopping unless local rules allow.
One rider per vehicle
If you’re with a friend, use Group Ride to unlock a second vehicle so you can both cruise safely.
No tricks or stunts
Keep both wheels safely on the ground. That means no jumping, skidding or burnouts.
Ride at a safe speed
Keep your pace in check. Riding downhill can cause your Lime to pick up speed, so don’t be afraid to tap the brake to maintain a comfortable pace.
Always wear a helmet
Protect your best asset. Trust us, a little helmet hair never hurt anybody.
Ride responsibly
Be courteous of others while riding. Avoid sudden, erratic or aggressive maneuvers.
Ride sober
If you’ve been drinking, grab a rideshare or take public transit.
No underage riding
Minimum ride age can vary by region, so check the user agreement and local laws.
Check location-specific rules
Every city is unique, so some safety requirements might vary based on your local laws and regulations. Make sure to check the app for local guidance before you ride.
