Lime, the world’s largest provider of shared electric vehicles, has been operating its sustainable mobility service in Atlanta since 2018. Lime’s Atlanta fleet is multimodal featuring industry-leading Gen4 stand up scooters, seated scooters, and ebikes. All Lime vehicles are equipped with a swappable, interchangeable battery that optimizes the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.
Since launching our Atlanta program in 2018, over 1+ million riders have taken over 5 million trips in the City, providing residents and visitors with a carbon-free way to reach their destination or make multimodal trips that connect to transit.

Communities thrive when people are connected. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing sustainable transportation to all, regardless of age, background, income or ability. Lime Access is our industry-leading affordability program that provides discounted rides to those who qualify. Lime was the first to introduce discounted e-bike and e-scooter rides, starting in 2018, with a goal of breaking down barriers to sustainable transportation to more communities. It also includes text-to-unlock and cash payment services to reduce the impact of the digital divide and ensure smartphones and credit cards are never barriers to sustainable transportation. No smartphone? No problem! We offer a text-to-unlock to ride with Lime. Just locate a vehicle and text “UNLOCK” to 415-463-3473 and follow the texted instructions. If you don’t have access to any mobile device, please reach out to our team to learn about the options we have available.

Lime has options for riders without bank accounts or credit cards. All these payment options are the same price as payment by credit, and there are no fees or surcharges to use the cash payment option. There also is no change in the standard reserving, unlocking, locking, and parking processes when paying with cash.
- PayPal: Riders can add credit to their Lime account balance using PayPal. Since 2021, over 300,000 payment transactions for Lime rides have been via PayPal. Globally, Lime riders have taken 15 million trips using PayPal.
- Prepaid Debit Cards: All riders can use prepaid cards just like a credit card, or can call our local team to have their card connected to their account.
- Uber Gift Cards: Riders can purchase Uber gift cards at thousands of retailers for cash, then use the cards to reserve and pay for Lime devices through our exclusive Uber integration. Riders who book through Uber are prompted with a Lime scooter when riders request a journey within our service area, and payment takes place through their Uber account.

Lime Assist is a first-of-its-kind program aimed at extending access to shared electric vehicles for persons with varying abilities. Lime Assist offers access to our accessible vehicles on demand and at no cost. Riders can make a reservation on our website, where they select a vehicle and drop-off time. Lime then delivers the vehicle to a rider’s door and picks it up 24 hours later when they are finished using it. Reserve a Lime Assist ride here.
Atlanta Rules of the Road & Parking
- Riders must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Only one rider per scooter or bike is allowed
- Helmets are strongly encouraged
- Riders must yield to pedestrians
- Riders are encouraged to use parking corrals when available
- Using a cell phone while operating these devices can lead to distraction and create a dangerous situation. Wait until you park before using your cell phone for any reason.
- No devices may be rented from 12:00 a.m.- 4:00 a.m
- Riding on sidewalks is discouraged. Use bike lanes when available
