Zurich Launches Newest Generation Of Lime Electric Scooters

Long before shared electric scooters would make their appearance on the global stage, Lime pedal bikes arrived in Zurich for their inaugural ride on European soil.
Now, one and a half years later, the city that introduced Lime to Europe is rolling out the latest in micromobility tech: the Gen 3.
Equipped with 10” wheels, mountain bike-inspired suspension and a lower center of gravity for increased stability, Lime’s newest electric scooter is designed with Switzerland’s rigorous safety standards in mind. It’s also intended to carry on the company’s legacy of fun, sustainable urban micromobility that began here in 2018.
“We’re excited to introduce our newest and most advanced electric scooter to residents here in Zurich,” said Estuardo Escobar, Lime’s General Manager in Switzerland. “The city has special meaning to us, as it was our first European market and our gateway to a global operations that now include more than 25 countries around the world.”
Lime has made safety an integral part of their Gen 3 rollout, and will be hosting a First Ride training course in the coming weeks. The event will include test rides, refreshments and a free Closca helmet for all attendees valued at 70 Euros. More information can be found on the Lime Community Page.
The launch of Lime Gen 3 in Zurich follows the announcement earlier this week that neighboring Berlin had set a new global record for the fastest 1 million e-scooter rides.
