When diverse beliefs are united by common goals, amazing things can happen.At Lime, the vision of clean, equitable mobility may be shared by all of us, but it’s our unique experiences and varied personal backgrounds that allow us to follow that vision with purpose and clarity.That’s why our Lime Pride logo is so important to us.Members of the LGBTQQI community are employed at every level of our operations, from heading up our comms department to managing our fleet in markets like Dallas and San Francisco.In the weeks leading up to June 1st, this diverse team sat down together to discuss ways in which we could meaningfully participate in Pride Month. Our involvement in events across the country was a natural starting point, however we felt we also needed to create a symbol that clearly communicated Lime’s solidarity with all that Pride stands for.And what better way to do that than by incorporating Gilbert Baker’s “Pride Flag” into the Lime logo itself?Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its creation this year, the Pride Flag has become the universal symbol of acceptance and equal rights throughout the global LGBTQQI community. Every color is imbued with meaning, from life and sexuality to spirit and serenity.Perhaps most fittingly, the green at the center of the flag represents nature and a profound appreciation for Mother Earth.In designing our Lime Pride logo, we were careful to stay true to the spirit and expression of Baker’s original Pride Flag. Green remains at the heart of the wheel, with all the colors of the rainbow blending seamlessly across the six surrounding wedges.The outside of the wheel has been kept Lime green, however, as a reminder that, no matter what differences may exist between us, we’re all part of one unified team working to improve what is perhaps the most fundamental expression of human freedom and diversity: the way we move.Lime will continue to proudly display our Lime Pride logo throughout the month of June, and we encourage all of you to share your own Pride moments and memories with us at [email protected].
