Turning metrics into memories

Returning for its third year, Lime’s Ride Replay Campaign is an annual year-in-review celebration for riders to look back at their past 12 months of traveling with Lime.

This year we chose to share each rider’s 2024 journey through a nostalgic, Y2K-style yearbook. For the first time ever, our campaign is available in 21 languages, making it our largest and most global campaign to date. Think high school superlatives reimagined for micromobility: "Top of Class" for most miles ridden, "Most Likely to Study Abroad" for exploring multiple Lime markets, and "Most Likely to Pull an All-Nighter" for those late-night riders.

We added to the fun with throw-back graphics that will transport you right back to the days of Blockbuster and Lisa Frank. “As with years past, we aim to invoke a feeling of nostalgia with our riders for Ride Replay, this year drawing on the resurgence of Y2K’s fun and colorful aesthetic,” says Evan Catlett, Creative Director at Lime. “Our riders should look back fondly at their individual contributions to decarbonizing transportation. With this creative, we relied on ‘delightfully tacky’ visuals that embody Y2K and student-designed yearbooks.

Beyond the screen

To add to the excitement, this year’s campaign goes beyond the screen and onto the streets. We're bringing the celebration to life, delivering custom trophies to a handful of top riders around the world. The trophies are crafted and designed by artist Briona Hendren from recycled and reclaimed Lime parts. And for our London community, we even hosted a Y2K-inspired group ride complete with disposable cameras, glow sticks, and wheel lights!

History in the making

2024 marked a pivotal moment for Lime. The surge in ridership helped us surpass 750 million lifetime trips, becoming the first shared electric vehicle operator to reach this major milestone. By taking three quarters of a billion rides, our riders have replaced an estimated 176 million car trips, avoided an estimated 75,000 metric tons of carbon emissions and traveled more than 875 million lifetime miles, or nearly 1.4 billion kilometers.

This year alone, our riders embarked on over 175 million journeys across more than 280 cities in nearly 30 countries, covering an impressive 234 million miles (377 million kilometers).

Our riders aren't just getting from point A to point B—they're driving real change for our planet each time they hop on a bike or scooter. This year, our riders collectively:

  • Replaced over 43 million car trips with zero-emission, two-wheeled rides

  • Prevented the consumption of 2.2 million gallons of gas (8.5 million liters)

  • Avoided 20,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions

Looking forward

As we celebrate 2024, we're already eyes on the horizon with our interactive sustainability roadmap, outlining our ambitious net zero goals, reinforcing our commitment to revolutionizing urban transportation.

With plans for expansion, enhanced social impact programs, and continued innovation, we are ready to make an even greater impact in 2025.

Thank you to our riders for being part of this sustainable mobility revolution. Here's to many more miles, fewer emissions, and greener cities!
