Lime hits over 355 low-carbon trucking runs across Europe
As Lime expands across Europe, we’re making sure our growth reflects the climate goals that guide us, from a –66.8% emissions intensity reduction to our 2023 net-zero target. That’s why our latest milestone matters: Lime has completed more than 355 low-carbon trucking hauls across 20 European cities, covering 266,000 km and avoiding 155,525 kg of CO₂ along the way.
“Finding low-carbon shipping options is core to our mission and an integral part of our strategy to reach net zero. The team has done an incredible job finding partners who can deliver on this objective throughout Europe. As we deploy our emissions-free mobility solution to cities across the globe, it’s right in line with our mission to ensure those vehicles get to the markets we serve with as little carbon emissions as possible, enhancing the sustainability value of our service.” - Andrew Savage, Vice President of Sustainability and founding team member at Lime
Building on a strong climate foundation
Our low-carbon trucking work is just one part of a much bigger climate journey—one that riders, cities and partners have helped shape.
In 2023, we announced an ambitious net-zero target, building on years of operational decarbonization. We’ve already achieved a –66.8% reduction in operational emissions intensity, thanks to initiatives such as:
Transitioning to renewable energy at Lime facilities
Increasing use of long-lasting, swappable batteries
Expanding electric and lower-carbon logistics, from port-to-hub shipping to last-mile operations
If you’ve been following our progress, you might remember our updates on clean freight—including our milestone of 90% decarbonized port-to-hub shipping in Europe, and the rollout of big electric trucks moving thousands of electric vehicles across the continent.
Our latest progress builds directly on that foundation, proving that scaling shared micromobility and scaling clean logistics can—and should—go hand in hand.
More progress, less carbon
Part of Lime’s mission is to change what urban transportation can be—sustainable, more efficient and better connected.
Our low-carbon trucking milestone is another step forward, but it’s far from the last. As more cities turn to micromobility to meet climate and congestion goals, we’ll continue pushing for smarter operations behind the scenes.
Because it shouldn’t just matter that you choose a greener way to move, it should matter how we move, too.
