Lime and Mission Possible: Building better cities through community partnership

Building better cities starts with building stronger communities. That's why we're proud to partner with Mission Possible, an incredible organization rooted in the heart of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

Who is Mission Possible?

Mission Possible is a community organization in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside that employs people typically excluded from the traditional workforce—those facing homelessness, housing insecurity, poverty, and other barriers to employment. They create pathways to long-term jobs and lasting change, transforming lives and strengthening the entire community. In the last fiscal year, Mission Possible’s social enterprises have employed over 140 people, including 39 who joined our Women’s Team.

Our partnership in action

Since launching in Vancouver, we've partnered with Mission Possible to clean and maintain our e-scooter parking stations, particularly after the challenging cherry blossom and winter season. Their team ensures our stations remain safe and accessible for everyone.

But our collaboration goes beyond cleaning. The organization partners with Lime to provide discounted rides to their employees via the Lime Access program in Vancouver. We've also participated in community events together, including group rides where their staff joined our team for scooter demonstrations and neighborhood tours.

Lime's growth in Vancouver

We officially launched our shared e-scooter service in downtown Vancouver on June 11th, following our successful pilot in Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview Woodland neighborhoods that began in September 2024. After a rigorous city evaluation process, Vancouver selected us to operate their new shared e-scooter system, complete with custom-designed parking stations and our latest generation e-scooters.

The response has been remarkable. Since launching in Downtown, Lime saw a jump from 75,000 to 100,000 rides in the first two weeks alone—a 33% increase. Riders can now travel across the downtown peninsula and park at dedicated stations, with more locations coming as we expand throughout the summer.

Looking ahead

Cleanliness and upkeep remain central to our operations, ensuring stations stay safe and welcoming for all users. We're grateful for Mission Possible's ongoing support and plan to continue this valuable partnership as we grow across Vancouver. Together, we're not just providing transportation—we're building stronger, more inclusive communities.
