Lime and HELLO CYCLING collaborate to launch shared ports in Japan

Lime is making history in Japan. We’re teaming up with HELLO CYCLING, to enable riders to gain broader access and convenience when using Lime and HELLO CYCLING services.

This marks the first time a global leading electric mobility sharing service and a Japanese domestic mobility sharing service collaborate and share ports.

Through this collaboration, Lime and HELLO CYCLING will integrate apps to provide shared access to each other’s vehicles and port networks. This will create a seamless mobility experience for both domestic and international riders, while offering a convenient last-mile solution for local residents, seniors, and visitors.

Further planned integration in the future will also enable riders to access both Lime’s e-bikes and scooters as well as HELLO CYCLING’s popular electric-assist bikes through either company’s app.

A collaboration built for Japan

Japan is a country on the move, famous for its vibrant cities, bustling streets and millions of daily commuters. But with that energy comes congestion, emissions and a growing demand for smarter ways to move.

HELLO CYCLING has built one of Japan’s most established bike-share networks, with more than 11,000 stations and 50,000 bikes nationwide. Pair that with Lime’s global micromobility expertise and our broad US, European, Australian and Kiwi customer base, many of whom are top visitors to Japan, and you get a network designed for Lime riders: locals, tourists, and everyone in between.

LimeBike’s Asia launch

This collaboration also marks the Japan debut of LimeBike, our newest electric-assist bike. For the millions of international travelers who already know Lime from North America, Europe and Oceania, it means an easy-to-ride e-bike built with no payment or registration friction, the familiar app experience and comfort in mind: a wide basket for shopping, a stable low-step frame and plenty of battery for long city rides.

The road (and ride) ahead

Together, Lime and HELLO CYCLING are building a more connected, sustainable future for one of the world’s most dynamic destinations, while giving visitors and locals more freedom to explore Japan on two wheels.
