Introducing the LimeBike & LimeGlider: Our Most Inclusive Rides Yet

Our Newest Vehicles Hit the Streets
Today marks an exciting milestone for Lime as we officially launch our newest vehicles, the LimeBike and LimeGlider, in nearly a dozen cities across Europe and North America. Following successful pilots in 2024, we're deploying more than 10,000 of these innovative rides to streets near you, with arrivals timed over the next few weeks and months, furthering our mission to make sustainable transportation accessible to all.
Pilot Rollout
Our 2024 pilots in Atlanta, Seattle and Zurich showed impressive results. In Atlanta, over half of riders who tried the LimeBike returned for another ride within the same week – a strong signal that the new design resonated with users.
The LimeGlider pilots in Seattle and Zurich revealed another interesting pattern: riders frequently took these vehicles on extended journeys, with many traveling more than 5 kilometers and for over 15 minutes at a time. That's even longer than typical trips on our Gen4 e-bikes, suggesting the LimeGlider's comfortable seated design encourages longer rides.
These pilot results confirmed what we hoped to see – that these new vehicle designs could attract and retain riders while encouraging more sustainable travel for longer trips that might otherwise be taken by car.

Designed with You in Mind
The LimeBike and LimeGlider feature thoughtful design elements that make them more approachable, comfortable and easier to use for everyone – especially those traditionally underrepresented in micromobility, including women and older riders.
"During our initial pilots last year, it was clear that the LimeBike and LimeGlider earned the love of our riders, with people returning to them frequently for local travel," says Joe Kraus, President at Lime. "We're so excited to take our next step with these vehicles and bring them to more cities this spring."
Meet the LimeBike: A Modern Classic
Playing on our company's original name, the LimeBike complements our Gen4 model with features designed to appeal to a broader range of riders:
Easily adjustable seat with new ergonomic clamp design
Throttle option in US cities (in addition to pedal assist)
Compact and approachable feel that doesn't sacrifice fun or practicality

Our latest e-bike design will be available in:
Turin, Italy
Aarhus, Denmark
Nice, France
Nyon, Switzerland
Atlanta, USA (returning after a successful pilot)
Zurich, Switzerland (returning after a successful pilot)
Meet the LimeGlider: Just Sit & Go
The LimeGlider makes a statement with its striking green and black design – a bold departure from our traditional white and green color scheme. This innovative vehicle combines the comfort of a seated ride with the effortlessness of a scooter.
Key features include:
Foot rests instead of pedals for an effortless riding experience
Larger padded seat positioned closer to the ground for a lower center of gravity

Our innovative pedal-free seated vehicle will arrive in:
Denver, USA
Austin, USA
San Francisco, USA
Seattle, USA (returning after a successful pilot)
Zurich, Switzerland (returning after a successful pilot)
The vehicles will arrive in additional cities over the next few months, with more details to be announced in the future.
Smart Design Elements Across Both Vehicles
Both the LimeBike and LimeGlider share thoughtful design elements that make them our most inclusive and user-friendly vehicles yet:
20-inch (50cm) diameter wheels for a more compact, approachable feel
Step-through frames for easy mounting and dismounting
Ergonomic hand grips to reduce fatigue
Secure, intuitive phone holders for easier navigation
Wider, lower-positioned front baskets to accommodate larger items
Advanced onboard technology for improved location recognition
2.5-inch (6.35cm) tires for better traction in wet conditions
Lower center of gravity for improved stability and maneuverability
Sustainability at Our Core
As with all Lime vehicles, sustainability remains central to our design philosophy. The LimeBike and LimeGlider are built to last longer with fewer repairs, featuring our most repairable design yet. The modular construction, similar to our Gen4 e-bikes and e-scooters but with improvements based on two years of operational learning, allows for more efficient maintenance. Both vehicles are equipped with our proprietary swappable batteries and share compatible battery infrastructure with the Gen4 fleet, keeping operations streamlined across all vehicle types while reducing their overall carbon footprint.
Making an Impact Together
Since Lime's founding in 2017, our riders have taken over 750 million trips, traveling more than 1.5 billion kilometers. Together, we've replaced an estimated 180 million car trips, preventing approximately 77 million kilograms of CO2 emissions and saving about 33 million liters of gas.
With the LimeBike and LimeGlider, we're taking another significant step toward our vision of shared, affordable and carbon-free transportation for all. We can't wait for you to try them!
