Micromobility may look like simple scooter and bike rides, but it’s all made possible by cutting edge digital technology.

That was one of the key takeaways at the 2019 Digital Mindset Awards. Set amid the three-day Digital Enterprise Show in Madrid, the acclaimed awards ceremony recognizes leaders in innovation and digital transformation from across Europe.

This year, Lime took center stage for its leading role in bringing accessible, dockless e-scooter technology to the continent.

The global leader in micromobility was awarded the prize for “Best Digital Disruptor Startup” thanks to its innovative, high-impact business model and projections for significant growth and adoption in the coming years.

“We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve been able to accomplish together with our riders, Juicers, teammates and city partners,” said Manu Ortiz, Lime’s Head of GR for Spain and Portugal who was on hand to receive the award. “It’s an honor to be recognized by esteemed members of the European tech community, and we’re looking forward to the exciting growth that’s ahead of us.”

Lime currently operates electric scooters and bikes in more than a dozen countries across Europe, and just last week announced plans for an ambitious deployment strategy in Germany based on safety and cooperation with local authorities.

In Paris, Lime’s free weekly riding academy has set an industry standard for safety-focused education and responsible ridership.
