#FundMyStreets: Lime Partners With Industry Leaders To Promote Traffic Safety

At Lime, helping to foster safe streets is our most important priority, and all too often our youngest community members are at risk in the places they should feel the safest: in and around their schools.
That’s why today we’re proud to partner with fellow road safety and mobility pioneers Zendrive, Lyft, Uber, Bird,Juno and HopSkipDrive to promote the #FundMyStreets initiative. Together with nonprofits StopDistractions.org, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Together for Safer Roads, we’re awarding $50,000 to community programs to help improve traffic safety.
Communities are invited to craft and submit their best and most creative plans for improving road safety around their local schools. Finalists will be selected from the submissions and will have the opportunity to create one 30-second video each in support of their proposals.
Factoring in both the quality of the proposal and the number of engagements, likes and retweets, judges from road safety nonprofits will select a winner to receive $50,000 and access to Zendrive’s road safety data to assess the effectiveness of their implementation.
Data shows that unsafe driving is a persistent issue around US schools, and that distracted driving and driver phone use may beworse than official estimates. With the #FundMyStreets partnership, Lime aims to empower communities to find local solutions to these local problems.
