Celebrating Earth Week One Ride And One Gram Of Saved CO2 At A Time

If people were to switch from driving cars to riding a bike for various short trips, between2.4 and 5 billion gallons of gas could be saved each year. That's the equivalent of up to 45 million tons of CO2.Considering a majority of the trips Lime riders take are just under one mile, we believe that we're already making strides towards reducing our carbon footprint - but we’re committed to doing better! This week, we're providing a guide to Earth Day rides across the country and challenging ourselves to reduce more CO2 than ever before. The previous record was set during the week of March 26, when our riders saved over 52 million grams of CO2 by choosing LimeBike, Lime-E and Lime-S over cars.

As of 9:30 PDT on April 16, we're already at657,429 grams saved!** Weds AM Update: We'vealready saved a combined 12,725,739g of CO2... and counting!*** Friday AM Update:With the weekend already started & Earth Daythis Sunday, we've saved > 30,000,000g!

**** FINAL COUNT Monday 4/23:After a monster weekend, we came in to find that we SET A NEW, RECORD HIGH:69,999,528g of CO2, SAVED!Your rides contributed to Lime's biggest week of carbon emission reductions! Youalso participated in a number of Earth Day events across the country. A few of them are highlighted below! To help you get to any of these Earth Day events, just use the code **LIMEEARTH18**to receive $2 in ride credits.
