75k People Signed Lime’s Respect The Ride Pledge In Its First 5 Days

Last Monday, Lime announced the launch of the micro mobility industry’s first comprehensive safety campaign.

By Friday afternoon, more than 75,000 people had signed the Respect The Ride pledge, expressing a united commitment to safe streets, accessible sidewalks and responsible riding.

“We’re thrilled with the enthusiastic response to this important initiative,” said Lime President and Co-Founder Brad Bao. “Safety has always been our top priority at Lime, and 15,000 pledges per day shows just how strongly this issue resonates with every member of the community, both riders and non-riders alike.”

Kicking off in the US, the campaign is set to begin expanding internationally this week. The first 25,000 respondents who signed the pledge will receive a free Lime helmet as part of the company’s $3 million investment into Respect The Ride.

Another 225,000 helmets will be distributed free of charge across Lime’s global markets in the coming months.

Featured in publications such as The Verge and Engadget and discussed at this years Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon, Respect The Ride is helping set the global standard for responsible micro mobility usage. The multi-pronged campaign includes local advertising, a series of new product safety features and the industry’s first Education and Safety Summit.
