New Nordic Micromobility Association Puts Scooter Responsibility First

Lime has teamed up with two other e-scooter operators in Northern Europe to establish the industry’s first Nordic Micromobility Association.

The goal of the nonprofit, which is open to all operators in the region, is to increase dialogue and cooperation between Scandanavian cities and electric scooter companies in order to provide consumers with high-quality, sustainable transportation solutions.

“The Nordic Micromobility Association represents the next chapter in positive relations between e-scooter providers and Nordic cities,” said Alan Clarke, Lime’s Director of Policy and Government Relations in the UK and Nordics. “Lime currently delivers the highest quality service to our riders in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, and this progressive initiative will ensure that the standards we’ve helped to establish today will inform even better operations moving forward.”

The association, which is comprised of Lime and fellow e-scooter operators TIER and Voi, will encourage safety, responsibility, sustainability and innovative competition. With this agreed-upon framework in place, cities across Northern Europe will more easily benefit from the latest advancements in micromobility, allowing them to reduce emissions and improve transport efficiency.

The formation of the Nordic Micromobility Association comes during a summer in which Lime has seen important launches and historic ridership across the region. In July, Lime launched scooters in the capital cities of Oslo and Helsinki and was the first micromobility operator to surpass 1,000,000 rides in Sweden and Denmark.
