Keeping cities healthy means doing our part to support health care workers, first responders and other frontline workers who are in need of safe, alternative transportation modes for essential errands. At Lime, we remain committed to supporting and connecting the communities we serve and doing our part during these unprecedented times.

Starting today, Lime will be rolling out Lime Aid in select cities around the world and reactivating small fleets of scooters for those in need. The pandemic has made transportation more difficult, and our scooters offer an easy way for people to travel while social distancing. In addition, Lime will offer free 30-minute rides for public-health personnel and law enforcement officers, who can receive access. Micromobility plays a critical role in moving people seamlessly through cities, and as an individual form of transportation, scooters can help fill an integral transportation gap at this important time.

The company plans to first begin Lime Aid in the below cities and expand in the coming weeks as it continues to formalize local partnerships with public health officials, community organizations and other key stakeholders.

Lime will partner with cities to determine the best deployment locations to help essential workers and residents who face limited transportation options. The company continues supporting communities through charitable partnerships, including Parisian hospital system AP-HP to enable workers to use Lime’s service for free. AP-HP has integrated Lime's offer into their platform “Hopitisoin” and Lime will offer helmets to Frontline workers who sign-up for the program. Lime has also spearheaded volunteer opportunities and a donation of scooters to the Red Cross in Rimini, Italy to help key workers deliver medication.

Lime will provide in-app reminders of our “THRIVE” health and safety best practices, including:

  • Hands — wash your hands or use hand sanitizer which is at least 60% alcohol-based when you arrive at your final destination. Wear gloves when you can.

• • Ride Solo for safety and social distancing; maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others.

• • Identify bike lanes and be aware of traffic lights and signs.

• • Vigilance - remain alert of your surroundings and potential road and safety hazards.

• • Essential Rides - Rides are for getting you around, such as the grocery store, pharmacy, or healthcare. Please follow your city's shelter-in-place orders.

Micromobility will be vital to the global COVID recovery, and more cities will take note, benefiting from the resurgence of economic activity, reduced emissions and congestion, and safer streets with fewer cars.
