Lime Rides The Catwalk As Copenhagen Fashion Week’s First Official Bike Partner
Bike in style
As part of their collaboration, exclusive co-branded Copenhagen Fashion Week x Lime bikes have been launched with guests spotted cycling them to and from shows. These co-branded Lime bikes will be positioned at all show locations during the week, offering a convenient and sustainable way for everyone to travel between events. Copenhagen is already one of the most cycle-friendly cities in the world, but cycling via shared e-bikes is emerging as the street-style transport mode of choice within the fashion community for SS25, while lime green is dubbed the color of the season amid ‘Brat Summer’ popularity.
Sustainability is always in vogue
Lime, the world’s largest shared electric vehicle company, is committed to revolutionizing urban transportation toward a shared, electric, and carbon-free future. This mission is perfectly aligned with Copenhagen Fashion Week’s Sustainability Action Plan, which encourages designers to incur long-term sustainable change.
This marks the first time Copenhagen Fashion Week has had an Official Bike Partner, as it merges its cutting-edge fashion scene with the efficiency of urban mobility, celebrating a shared vision of street-style, freedom, and sustainability.
Guests including official Copenhagen Fashion Week TikTok Ambassador, Nikolai Siegfried (@nikolai.siegfried), were photographed arriving via a co-branded Lime bike to yesterday’s events in classic street-style looks. Copenhagen is one of the most bike obsessed cities in the world, making it no surprise guests are opting for two wheels.
In our Brat era
Charli XCX has inspired lime green as the color of the season thanks to her latest album, with ‘Brat summer’ now firmly influencing fashion, sport and media around the world. This cultural movement, characterized by carefree attitudes, bold fashion choices, and a sense of rebellious elegance aligns the energy and ethos of both Lime and Copenhagen’s fashion-forward communities.
Guests can join the neon phenomenon by easily locating and unlocking the exclusive bikes through the Lime app. As Copenhagen Fashion Week gears up to unveil the latest trends of the season, the co-branded Lime bikes will be positioned at all show locations during the week offering a convenient and sustainable way to travel between shows… plus the bike and bike lane also double up as the perfect fashion accessory and runway to debut new looks.
“To be unveiled as CPHFW’s official bike partner for SS25 is an amazing milestone for us. It’s an organization we admire due to their laser focus on sustainability and innovation, which is completely aligned with our own brand,” says Ellie Bird, Brand & Comms Lead for Lime in the Nordics and UKI. “Copenhagen is one of the most cycle-obsessed, and fashion forward cities in the world, which made our collaboration a no-brainer. This partnership is all about helping guests - who largely already ride Lime in their daily lives - get from show to show quickly and sustainably. Our e-bikes have become popular within the fashion community as a statement accessory in their own right, often seen featured on street-style Instagram feeds and stories, particularly as lime green experiences a cultural ‘moment’ this summer thanks to Charli XCX.”
A to B for free
Lime is offering first-time riders a free 15-minute ride to encourage easy, headache-free transportation for all guests attending SS25 events. Riders can take advantage of these rides on the ‘Lime x Copenhagen Fashion Week’ co-branded vehicles. The e-bikes will be parked at bike racks near all show locations as part of the partnership.
To incentivize sustainable travel further for fashion week, Lime has also established a reward system for the most diligent riders who complete several journeys on the co-branded bikes. From August 4th through August 31st, each rider who has completed 5, 10 or 15 journeys on the ‘Lime x Copenhagen Fashion Week’ bikes will be rewarded with surprise gifts through the Lime app in the form of free rides.
A sustainability-focused partnership
Transportation is one of the leading contributors of global greenhouse gas emissions, largely due to driving. To address climate change, and make cities healthier and more livable, Lime seeks to revolutionize urban transportation toward a shared, electric, and carbon free future. This mission is perfectly in line with Copenhagen Fashion Week’s Sustainability Action Plan encouraging established and emerging designers to incur long term sustainable change within the fashion industry.
For example, in “Copenhagen Fashion Week’s Minimum Standards for 2025,” the brand requires all designers participating in CPHFW to use at least 60% of their collection from certified, made of preferred materials or deadstock fabric. This recycling practice is similar to Lime’s second life practices such as utilizing second life battery cells from otherwise inoperable e-bike batteries in London for bluetooth speakers made of recycled plastic bags by sustainable design company, Gomi.
Similar to Copenhagen Fashion Week, Lime too works closely to uphold its Science Based Targets (SBTI). Lime’s latest carbon report demonstrated that it reduced its emissions intensity by more than -59.5% from the 2019 baseline year. These figures include Lime’s company-wide Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions including its supply chain and upstream transportation.
