Lime Partners With Pacific Assistance Dogs To Clear Sidewalks During AccessAbility Week

Lime x PADS

Lime is proud to announce its partnership with Pacific Assistance Dogs (PADS) during AccessAbility Week to launch an initiative aimed at keeping sidewalks clear for all pedestrians, particularly those with physical mobility challenges or those who are blind or have low vision. We believe in the importance of working with partners to address accessibility issues and are committed to promoting inclusivity and safety for all members of the community.

Sticking to accessibility

As part of this initiative, we affixed stickers on all our vehicles, reminding riders of the importance of sidewalk accessibility and the impact of blocked pathways on individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Lime will be reaching out to riders to further educate and encourage responsible riding behaviour. Through these efforts, Lime aims to raise awareness about the need for sidewalk accessibility and foster a community-wide commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone.

“We're excited to collaborate with PADS to raise awareness about enhancing community accessibility,” said Sonia Kandola, Director of Government Relations at Lime. "By working together and engaging our riders, we can make a meaningful difference in ensuring that sidewalks remain clear and accessible for all pedestrians, regardless of their abilities."

“PADS is grateful to Lime for their commitment to accessibility as well as their dedicated efforts to educate not just their riders, but the larger community about how simple changes can have significant positive impact on people with disabilities.” said Tara Doherty, PADS Director of Communications.

Community first

Lime remains dedicated to promoting sustainable and accessible transportation options for all while prioritising the safety and well-being of all community members. Through initiatives like this, Lime continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable urban environment.

Lime provides shared e-bikes and e-scooters in 280 cities in nearly 30 countries as it continues its mission to decarbonize transportation globally and serve as an alternative to car trips. Lime currently operates shared electric vehicles in Richmond, Coquitlam, the North Shore, and Kelowna and is proud to see ridership continue to grow in each of these markets. Lime will continue to look for creative ways to deepen its roots in the community, encourage safe riding and proper parking, and build on the success of the shared e-scooter and e-bike systems in metro Vancouver so far.
