Meet Ileana Fischer, Senior Associate of Labor Growth on our Operations team in Madrid – and the latest recipient of our True Green Award.

Ileana hires, onboards and supports our European Logistics Partners who transport our vehicles and keep them charged. “Ileana has made an immense impact on our business and culture,” says her team’s leader Tanya Sharma. “She understands every city’s unique needs, trains new members accordingly, and inspires us all with her commitment and optimism.”

Ileana tells us about her work experience and how Lime led her to embrace a new growth mindset.

Why did you join Lime?

I first learned about Lime in 2018, when operations launched in Europe. I needed a change, and Lime’s carbon-free mission excited me. Four years later, I remain inspired by the people and the progress we’ve made together to bring affordable, green transportation to so many communities.

What are you most proud of accomplishing so far?

I immigrated to Spain from Venezuela 9 years ago and had a lot of challenges along the way. Looking back, though, I feel grateful for everything I've learned and accomplished. Lime was a big part of that. As a company, we had to grow and adapt quickly in such a short time, and I had to grow and adapt right alongside.

Today we’re the leading micromobility company with vehicles in +120 European markets. Helping make that happen led me to develop this never-settle-always-learn-and-grow mindset. It’s an outlook that also plays a role in my life outside of work.

What excites you about Lime’s future?

Everything! But if I had to choose one thing, it’s how we’re helping more and more cities provide greener transportation options for their citizens. If I could choose another, it’s how easy (and fun) we make it to explore and discover new places. I’m a Limer, but I’m also a frequent rider. I use our e-scooters to get around Madrid, but I also love using Lime when traveling to other cities. And I think we will help more people experience that joy.

Any advice for someone looking for a career in operations at Lime?
