True Green Spotlight: How Lime and community intersect in Hayden’s career
Our True Green Awards celebrate and recognize individuals and teams who live our shared values through their work and actions. We are proud to work alongside and celebrate these recipients who make a positive impact on our riders, cities and company culture.
Meet Hayden Harvey, Senior Manager of Government Affairs PNW based in Seattle, Washington and the latest recipient of our True Green Award.
We connected with Hayden to learn more about how he finds fulfillment working with his local community, how he got his mother to ride Lime and more!
Why did you join Lime?
I joined Lime because I was excited to be a part of an organization that was living its values in the community. Lime’s real commitment to decarbonization while reducing barriers for transportation-limited folks was what brought me here.
What do you love most about your job?
My most favorite part of my job is working with our community partners around the Northwest. Over the course of my day I talk to organizations working to make a real difference in folks' lives, and to be able to leverage Lime’s fleets, people, and resources in support of their missions is a great privilege.
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far?
"Converting my mom to being a Lime rider!"
What excites you about Lime’s future?
Just about everything. As we grow towards ubiquity, serving the world’s largest (and smallest) cities, I hear from folks who challenge stereotypes of who uses our bikes and scooters. A recent note I received from a 70-year-old Seattelite asking for more e-bikes in their neighborhood tells me this is just the beginning for Lime.
What's the best advice you've ever received here?
Know what you don't know.
How do you use Lime to explore or get around your city?
I use Lime nearly every day. Personally, I prefer our scooters, because I wear a backpack and I think it is more comfortable. I use Lime to get to work, meet friends, shop, and most importantly to beat the Seattle traffic.
Any advice for someone who wants to work at Lime?
Prepare to bring your whole-self to work.
