Join the race for ocean protection.

Ride green for the blue - with Lime.

Lime supports the campaign Together for the Ocean, urging to protect 30% of the Ocean by 2030

  • Lime partners with Together for the Ocean and artist Francesca Page to create a unique hero bike to invite people to join the race for ocean protection
  • Together they unveil a unique art installation “Ride Green for the Blue”, imagined and created by Francesca Page, visual artist, ocean explorer and storyteller dedicated to saving the ocean
  • As the third United Nations Ocean conference convenes in Nice, France from the 9-13 June “Ride Green for the Blue” rolls through the city’s streets reminding everyone – citizens and policymakers alike – that the race to protect the ocean is now on.

The clock is ticking and the ocean cannot wait. With threats mounting, the race to protect the ocean is more urgent than ever.

As decision-makers and campaigners gather for the UN Ocean Conference, global attention will turn to Nice, a city whose soul is tied to the sea. All eyes will be on countries' progress towards protecting at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.

In a powerful collaboration, Lime and Together for the Ocean have teamed up to keep the momentum alive outside of the conference, taking the movement to the streets. As delegates dash between events and locals cruise through their daily lives, every ride acts as a reminder of the urgent race for ocean protection — and an opportunity to hold governments accountable to their 30x30 promise.

Everyone in Nice, visitors and residents alike, will be called to ride green for the blue — choosing sustainable transport and supporting the demand for a healthy, protected ocean.

What is the ‘Together for the Ocean’ initiative?

A global campaign advocating for ocean protection by uniting stakeholders who share common goals.

The initiative is not owned by any one organization. We work collaboratively

to provide shared messaging, data, insights, media support, digital content and more, to participating organizations. The intention is that this will be complementary to the ongoing 30x30 campaigning and advocacy efforts by individual organizations and does not seek to supersede it.

For political leaders to take action to protect and conserve both national and high seas marine areas in order to fulfil their commitment to protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.

Ride Green for the Blue

At the center of the campaign is a unique Lime e-bike transformed into a traveling sculpture by visual artist and ocean explorer Francesca Page.

Her concept imagines a bike transformed into a vibrant underwater ecosystem. Coral polyps attach themselves to its metal frame, staghorn coral branches erupt from its frame, and marine creatures begin to call this strange new object home. Octopuses explore its nooks and crannies. What was once a tool for city transport becomes a living, breathing underwater sculpture.

This mobile art installation is designed to bring the ocean’s story to the streets.

As you ride this bike, you’re not just riding a sculpture. You are riding through all eight essential marine habitats, each critical to the 30x30 global conservation message.

Each habitat will be represented through 3D-printed elements made from recycled plastic bottles – coral forms, marine species, waves, surfers, boats – bringing a tactile, interactive quality to the piece. The bike will be wrapped in PVC-free, ocean-friendly vinyl, making the entire structure plastic-free and sustainable.

Community is at the heart of the design. Woven into the sculpture are stories and symbols representing the people who live in harmony with these coastal and marine ecosystems.

Beyond UNOC: A Traveling Symbol for Ocean Protection

Lime UNOC bike

This bike is not just an installation for the UN Ocean Conference – it’s a mobile symbol of hope and action for our ocean.

Its tactile, visually compelling design invites interaction and sparks curiosity. With QR codes linking to educational content and calls to action, it becomes an accessible entry point into marine conservation.

As it moves from place to place, the bike tells a growing story – one that highlights the importance of protecting our ocean habitats and the communities that depend on them. It’s a sculpture, a teaching tool, and a conversation starter – wherever it goes.
