Lime in Brussels
E-scooters and e-bikes have only been around in Brussels for a few years. But that's no excuse for not knowing the traffic rules. You can find the most important rules here and in your Lime app. Please follow these rules to stay safe on the road and save your wallet from fines. #ridegreen #ridesafe

Here's how to park correctly
Help us keep the streets of Brussels safe and accessible for all.
Park in dedicated dropzones 🅿️
In more and more neighborhoods of Brussels, dropzones are being set up so that parking is only permitted in these mandatory parking zones.
Such zones have a blue border and the designated parking areas are marked in the Lime app with a blue parking symbol 🅿️.
The fixed parking areas should be marked on the ground in most cases. Please park your e-scooter or e-bike only there.
Park your vehicle in a orderly way next to the blue parking symbol 🅿️ in the Lime app. You can end your ride there. Examples of proper parking can be found below.

When parking on the sidewalk, also keep in mind the following:
Pay attention to the no parking zones
The red coloured zones in your Lime app are no parking zones. You will not be able to complete your ride here. It's best to check the app just before you rent to see if your destination is in a no-parking zone and plan your ride accordingly. Don’t leave the vehicle in the no parking zones, marked red in the app to avoid receiving a fine.Make sure you ace the end-trip photo 📸
You have to take a photo of the parked vehicle to end the ride. We review all photos to check that you parked your e-scooter or e-bike in line with the rules.

One person per scooter: Always ride your scooter alone. Multiple people per scooter are not allowed. Anyone who is travelling in pairs on just one scooter not only risks a fine, but also endangers themselves and other road users.
Group ride instead of tandem: If you want to ride with several people, use “group ride” in your Lime app. This allows you to activate up to five scooters with your account.
Heroes wear helmets: there is no obligation to wear helmets. Nevertheless, we recommend that you wear a helmet whenever possible.
No headphones. Please give your full attention to the road and surrounding sounds, for your own safety and that of other road users.
-
Ride where there are bicycles: Always use bike lanes. If these are not available, please ride on the street.
Riding on sidewalks and in green areas is prohibited and will be punished with a financial penalty.
Sometimes faster, sometimes slower: The maximum speed of e-scooters in Brussels is 20 km/h. Please always adapt your speed to the respective traffic situation. Always keep to walking speed in play streets and other traffic-calmed areas.
