Lime, My Block My Hood My City Launch Summertime Scooter Tours with First Ride Academy Safety Training
Today, we joined forces with our Lime Hero partner, My Block My Hood My City, to host a First Ride Academy safe riding training course and launch their summer partnership helping grow M3’s Youth-Led Tours through Chicago’s North Lawndale community. During the event, we gave away free helmets and trained riders on how to safely operate scooters in advance of M3’s North Lawndale Civil Rights Tour.
During the event, we also highlighted our focus on equity, the core of Lime’s mission, as demonstrated by Lime providing more than half of all trips taken on the South and West Sides during last year’s e-scooter pilot.
My Block My Hood My City’s mission is to inspire youth, empower communities, and build a better world one block at a time. The company believes in providing opportunities for others to step outside their comfort zone and explore new communities, cultures, and cuisines in an effort to gain a greater understanding of the world. As summer begins and residents emerge from their homes, Lime is also committed to helping them get moving again in ways that are safe and sustainable, as they rediscover everything that makes their cities great.
This event is the first in a series that Lime will host in order to teach Chicagoans how to ride scooters safely and will raise awareness about Lime and M3’s partnership for a summer of Youth-Led Tours that teach people the history of the North Lawndale community and promote safe, affordable transportation options.
