At Lime, we love London as much as you do.
That’s why this year we’re investing in the capital as part of our £20m London Action Plan - improving e-bike parking, encouraging cycling safety and boosting cycling across the capital - helping Londoners do London.
From funding 930 new e-bike parking bays which has boosted e-bike parking capacity by 40%, to rolling out new in-app features to incentivise riders, we’ve made huge progress since January. Read more in our progress update below.
Lime’s five-point London Action plan
We want to make our service work for every Londoner. That’s where our five-point London Action Plan comes in: our biggest ever investment in parking improvements and safety to date - to get Londoners around more easily and efficiently. See our plan - and our progress - below.
We’ve created more parking infrastructure - for clearer streets across the capital
So far, we’ve funded 930 new e-bike parking bays in London and boosted e-bike parking capacity by 40% since January.
This is part of our goal to create at least 2,500 more dedicated e-bike parking spaces across London.
We’ve bolstered our on-street team - to help keep London moving
We’ve reduced parking bay overcrowding by 59% since January - and improved our response times by 69% when bikes are reported for relocating.
We’ve also increased our on-street team by 60%, with 400+ people now collecting, tidying and moving e-bikes across London.
We’re piloting cutting-edge tech - to improve e-bike parking
We’ve introduced brand-new AI-powered technology to more effectively analyse parking patterns across the city and reduce instances of rider misparking. The system provides live, real-time feedback to riders as they end their trips, helping them park responsibly and in compliance with local council regulations.
We’ve championed safety for all London cyclists
Together with Cycling UK, we’ve launched our Respect the Red campaign - rolling out educational billboards in busy areas, commissioning an in-depth report into cycling behaviours and developing a city cycling training programme to help more riders learn how to cycle safely and confidently. It’s all part of our commitment to promote responsible cyclist behaviour.
We’ve improved access to cycling - so even more Londoners can do London
We’ve provided more than £160,000 to 59 local organisations since we launched the “Share The Joy” fund with London Cycling Campaign. This is the first part of the £250,000 we committed to reinvest in January - to help more Londoners access cycling, and to support the Mayor of London’s green transport goals.
