Micromobility in Brisbane

Lime is the longest-serving micro-mobility company in Australia and New Zealand, with broad experience operating across many of the region’s most prominent cities.

Since July 2024, Lime, in partnership with Good Cycles has operated a fleet of e-bikes, e-scooters and seated e-scooters across Brisbane.

FAQ in Brisbane

  • Yes - you must be over 18 years old to ride.

  • No - you do not need a driver’s license.

  • At the moment, Lime operates e-bikes south of Labrador all the way down to Coolangatta. Please see the map on our app. If your destination is outside of these locations you, unfortunately, won’t be able to travel the entire way.

  • You must follow the blood alcohol content laws that apply to your driver’s license (e.g. 0 or 0.05) - if you do not have a license you must be 0.

  • By law, you must use a helmet, either your personal one or an attached Lime helmet. If you find a vehicle without a helmet and don’t have your own with you, we recommend using the app to find another vehicle nearby.

  • Wear an Approved Bicycle Helmet

    We’ve outfitted our e-bike with helmets that are detachable and trackable.

  • Don’t Drink and Ride

    Best to call an Uber if you’ve had a drink.

  • Review Footpath Guidelines

    Your city determines if the footpath is an approved place to Lime, review local guidelines in your app.

  • Ride Single

    Only one person per Lime.

Amy Gillett Foundation

The Amy Gillett Foundation was established in 2005 following the death of Amy Gillett, who was killed by a driver on 18 July 2005 while she was cycling in Germany with the Australian women’s cycling team.

Amy’s husband, Simon Gillett, together with Amy’s parents Mary and Denis and friends, concerned at the state of safety on Australian roads, started the foundation in January 2006.

The Amy Gillett Foundation has evolved to become the leading cycling safety organisation in Australia, driven by a core mission to reduce the death and injury of cyclists.
