Lime teams up with WWF for Lime In The Wild” campaign to fight climate change

On Saturday, March 27 at 8:30pm local time, residents, businesses and cities around the world will switch off their lights for one hour to celebrate Earth Hour, a small action but significant commitment to protecting the planet.

To mark this global event and leading up to Earth Day (April 22), we’re excited to announce that today, we’re again teaming up with WWF to draw attention to climate change via our #LimeintheWild campaign. The campaign, taking placein select markets in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Korea, Chile and the United States, is focused on the urgent fight against climate change and the shared role electric and carbon-free transportation plays in combating climate emissions.

As part of the worldwide movement for a cleaner planet, we’re co-branding a fleet of our unmistakable green e-scooters and e-bikes with animal prints, a nod to WWF’s mission. During the campaign, which will start at varying times through the next month, all proceeds from rides on the wrapped vehicles will be donated to WWF, in participating markets, in the fight against climate change.

Rider engagement is also a vital part of the campaign. Discounts will be offered to riders to unlock the e-scooters and e-bikes as well as encouraging them to post their rides on any animal-printed scooter or bike and tag #LimeintheWild, which we’ll share on both Lime and WWF global social channels.

“Earth Hour and Earth Day come at a critical point for us in the world right now - from an unprecedented global pandemic to devastating wildfires, the negative impacts of accelerating climate change continue to affect us in the most taxing ways,” explains Andrew Savage, Head of Sustainability at Lime. “We joined forces with WWF for #LimeintheWild to continue advancing the marriage of our shared mission to tackle pollution, just one of the causes of climate change.”
