How Lime is helping fans and locals move through the summer of soccer

As North American cities get ready for one of the biggest global sporting moments of the summer, getting around is about to become more crowded, more expensive and harder to predict.

That’s why Lime is launching Fan Pass, a limited-time ride pass designed to help fans and local residents move through host cities more affordably during this summer’s global soccer tournament.

Available from June 8 through July 19, Fan Pass gives riders up to 90 minutes of ride time for a fixed price, with pricing varying by city and capped at $15. It’s built to help people get to matches, fan zones, watch parties and neighborhood destinations without the uncertainty that often comes with high-demand travel periods.

A more predictable way to ride during a high-demand summer

Major sporting events bring incredible energy to cities, but they can also make transportation more difficult. Roads get more congested, parking becomes harder to find, transit gets more crowded and ride-hail prices can surge when demand spikes.

Fan Pass is designed to make that experience simpler. It includes free unlocks, discounted per-minute pricing and flexible use across a five-day window. In select markets, riders can save more than 60% compared to standard pay-as-you-go pricing.

By offering a more predictable way to ride during one of the busiest travel stretches of the year, Lime is helping people spend less time worrying about how to get around and more time enjoying the summer of soccer.

Supporting host cities across North America

Lime’s tournament campaign will roll out across key host markets including Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Monterrey, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle and Vancouver.

Alongside Fan Pass, Lime is expanding operational capacity to help keep cities moving during peak demand. That includes deploying more vehicles, increasing staffing, dynamically rebalancing fleets around pre- and post-match surges and managing parking infrastructure near stadiums, fan hubs and other high-traffic areas where available.

In select markets, Lime will also support dedicated valet parking zones and staffed parking hubs to help keep public spaces organized and accessible during especially busy moments.

Built for big global moments

Lime’s operational approach draws on experience supporting other major international sporting events, including the 2024 Summer Games in Paris and the 2026 Winter Games in Milan.

For this summer’s tournament, Lime plans to deploy more than 14,000 additional vehicles across Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Monterrey and Guadalupe. The company is also investing in on-the-ground teams, in-app rider education and expanded no-parking and no-ride zones to promote safe, responsible riding throughout the tournament period.

These efforts are designed to support both visiting fans and local residents, giving people a more reliable way to move through their city even as everyday transportation systems face added pressure.

More than match-day transportation

Fan Pass is designed for more than just trips to and from the stadium. It can help people get to fan zones, watch parties and cultural events throughout the tournament, while also giving local residents a more flexible option for commuting, running errands or avoiding traffic around major event areas.

Across host cities, Lime’s broader campaign will combine localized messaging, on-vehicle media, push, email and in-app experiences with in-person activations to help riders discover a more affordable way to move through busy city moments.

In Atlanta, for example, Lime is partnering with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on a local activation designed to reach fans in real time while reinforcing Lime as a convenient option for getting to and from event locations.

Micromobility’s role on the world stage

As cities host larger and more complex global events, micromobility continues to prove its value as an affordable, flexible and efficient transportation option.

From Paris to Milan and now across North America, shared electric vehicles are playing a bigger role in helping cities manage demand surges, reduce congestion and connect people to the places they want to go. With Los Angeles selected as the host city for the 2028 Summer Olympics, micromobility is positioned to win the gold.

This summer, Lime is helping show what that future can look like: a city that keeps moving, even during its busiest moments.
