To download the Lime app, simply click here and you’ll automatically be redirected to the appropriate download page for your mobile device. You can also search “Lime” in both the App and Google Play stores.
To find a Lime near you, simply open the Lime app. You’ll automatically be taken to the map screen, showing all available Lime vehicles in your area. If you don’t see any vehicle icons displayed on the map, zoom out to search a wider area.
To unlock a Lime-S electric scooter, Lime-E electric assist bike or LimeBike classic pedal bike, simply open the Lime app and tap on the “Ride” button at the bottom of the screen. From here, either scan the QR code using your phone’s camera or manually enter the 6-digit vehicle code located beneath the QR code.
Limes can be parked anywhere it is safe to park a bicycle. Do not block sidewalks, service ramps, bus stops and shop entrances. Please refer to our proper parking tutorial here.
First, please make sure you’re parking in a safe, appropriate location. Dock free bikes and scooters only work if we all take responsibility and park in places that don’t block car traffic, impede pedestrian access or encroach on private property.
To lock your LimeBike or Lime-E, simply push down on the locking arm connected to the rear wheel to lock the bike. To lock your Lime-S, simply tap "End Ride" in the Lime app. Voila! After completing your ride, the app will provide you with a trip summary.
Lime charges a fixed rate to unlock a vehicle and then per minute as you ride. Rates and promotions may vary by city, day of the week and time of day. Please refer to your Lime app for exact costs by tapping on a vehicle on the map.
Simply enter your credit card information into the app and purchase credits you can use for future rides.
Yes. Lime is committed to transportation equity, and we have developed a Lime Access program to allow individuals from underserved communities to ride our entire fleet of dock-free bikes, electric-assist bikes and electric scooters at a significantly reduced rate. While helmet laws vary from city to city, Lime recommends riders wear a helmet at all times. Whenever possible, Lime distributes free custom-designed helmets to the communities we serve as a way to keep our riders safe on the road. The Lime mobile app also educates users on the best practices when riding a bike, e-bike or e-scooter.
A pre-ride safety check involves a quick 3-step process to ensure your Lime vehicle is in good working order:
If the vehicle is not in working order, you can report it to Lime immediately by tapping on the exclamation point icon (!) on the lower left corner of the map screen.
Safety is our top priority. Lime has developed a series of educational videos, dedicated instructional pages and in-app messages to ensure riders know and abide by applicable rules and regulations. We also offer free helmets to all riders with over $10 in Lime credit in their account, and our engineering team works closely with cities to develop new features such as “Parked or Not” that address local safety concerns.
The Lime app uses your GPS location to accurately show you Lime vehicles that are in your vicinity.
The Lime app uses your camera to enable vehicle unlocking via QR code. We also request that some riders submit a photo of their vehicle after a ride to ensure that it is parked correctly.
Lime takes our riders’ data and privacy very seriously. GPS data is always anonymized before sharing with cities. Additionally, we do not sell rider data to third-party recipients, and a subpoena or other lawful process is required to access rider data in compliance with legal obligations.
