Riding sustainably has never looked so good.
Introducing the Re-Cycle Collection: Lime x Lydia Bolton. Cycle-friendly, contemporary streetwear that empowers more people to integrate sustainable travel into their daily lives… while looking good at the same time.
About the Re-Cycle Collection
Ever avoided cycling or scooting for fear of a fashion faux-pas? You’re not alone. Lime’s new research found 9 in 10 UK adults avoid cycling and scooting if wearing ‘uncomfortable’ or ‘inappropriate’ clothing.
Lime’s teamed up with British slow fashion designer, Lydia Bolton, to drop a limited edition contemporary streetwear collection, all created from 100% textile waste and second-hand materials provided by leading charity retailer, TRAID. It’s time to make integrating fashion, functionality, safety and sustainability into your everyday life easy.
Get your hands on the collection
A collection that is both cycle, fashion and environmentally friendly. Like what you see? Each one-of-a-kind piece is available to shop via our charity auction.
Adaptable coat
Long coats are the number one item putting people off cycling. So we created something more adaptable. Featuring a detachable lower half that turns into a handy attachable bag, it lets riders pedal freely, but still sport an oversized coat once they’ve reached their destination.
Reflective hi-vis vest
High vis vests not doing it for you? 44% of riders have avoided riding in the dark as they either didn’t own, or didn’t want to wear reflective clothing. It can be an outfit killer. So we’re making high vis vests chic. You can look good while staying safe.
On-the-go shorts
The fear of experiencing a Marylin Monroe moment as you pedal to dinner in peak Summer is real. Two-thirds of women would avoid riding a bike or scooter if they were wearing a mini dress or a skirt. Our shorts are fashionable and functional, designed to be worn under or over a short skirt or dress when riding, and put straight in your bag at the end of your journey.
Clothing clips
The enemy of flowy dresses, or flared trousers = a pedal, or a large gust of wind. These smart clothing clips can be used to cinch in trousers, dresses or skirts to stop them from getting dirty or caught. They are also functional, and make a cool keyring whenever they’re not in use.
About Lydia Bolton
Lydia Bolton is a sustainability creator and a slow fashion designer who founded her namesake brand in 2019. A zero-waste advocate, she works meticulously with sleeping stock, deadstock fabrics and thrifted items to create luxury but accessible womenswear apparel and homeware that doesn’t cost the earth.
With her collections consciously small, Lydia has also turned to helping brands find new ways to fight fashion waste, reduce landfill and retain relevance with the younger, eco-minded Gen Z consumer. She has collaborated with brands such as Nike, River Island, Channel 4, Manchester United and Westfield.
A core part of her work involves creating and hosting upcycling workshops to empower more people with the skills to tackle textile waste themselves. Lydia shows how, with skills and creativity, we can extend the lifetime of each garment so it becomes a treasured wardrobe staple for years to come.
