Weekly Lime-Up: Texas, Arizona Take Center Stage For Smart City Growth

Texas and Arizona took center stage this week as LimeBike continues our push for smart cities and equitable urban transportation across the US.

On top of expanding service in the Lone Star State and launching the first dockless bike share in Arizona, our national team also traveled to Dallas for the weekend to share notes, review community feedback, and plan ahead for a strong finish to our first calendar year in operation!

Here’s a quick weekly recap to get you up to speed.

MORE BIKES, MORE JOBS, AND A NEW OFFICE IN DALLAS

In response to incredible community support, on Thursday LimeBike announced that our fleet in Dallas would be growing to 5,000 bikes by the end of the year. This will allow us to better serve our largest geographic market to date - one that’s already taken more than 82,000 LimeBike rides since August.

On top of more bikes, we’ve doubled down on our commitment to customer service by announcing the opening of our first LimeBike satellite office in Dallas. Our local field ops hires, which doubled last month, are slated to continue growing by 20% week-over-week until the end of December!

LIMEBIKE LAUNCHES IN SCOTTSDALE

After announcing last week that LimeBike would be the first dockless bike share in Arizona, we officially cut the ribon at ASU Skysong in Scottsdale on Tuesday. With 150 bikes already in service and more on the way, we couldn't be more excited to log our first miles in the Grand Canyon State! LimeBike riders in Scottsdale can enjoy 10 free rides until the end of the month using the code "HELLOAZ".

LIMEBIKE LAUNCHES IN PLANO

Just north of Dallas, LimeBike officially launched our dockless bike sharing platform in the city of Plano, Texas on Friday. This marks the second market statewide to open its doors to dockless bike sharing, and comes after over a month of talks between LimeBike and city officials on how best to implement the system. We’re excited to serve the citizens of Plano, and to work with them to tailor our last-mile transportation system to best fit their needs!

DALLAS FIELD OPS MANAGER RETREAT

This weekend, LimeBike field ops managers from across the US convened in Dallas for a 3-day retreat focused on improving customer service and operations in every community we serve. The team has been discussing logistics and pouring over notes, with our sights set on developing new strategies to respond quicker and more efficiently to your feedback and concerns. We can’t wait to put the results of this retreat into action beginning next week!
