Weekly Lime-Up: Five Days, Three New LimeBike Launch Announcements
It's been a big week at LimeBike.
Between Monday, 11/6 and Friday, 11/10, we successfully launched dockless bike sharing initiatives in two major markets on opposite ends of the US, and announced the upcoming launch of Arizona’s first such program later this month.
Just in case you missed it, here’s a quick weekly recap to get you up to speed on these exciting new developments.
LIMEBIKE LAUNCHES FIRST DOCKELSS BIKE SHARE IN LOS ANGELES
After working diligently with Councilman Joe Buscaino in LA’s 15th Council District, LimeBike rolled out 250 brand new bikes Monday morning in the neighborhoods of San Pedro, Wilmington, and Watts. The launch marked the first time a dockless bike sharing company had arrived in Los Angeles, the 2nd-largest city in the United States.
To celebrate, our national and local ops team members were on hand to answer lots of great questions from community members, and we kicked off the three-month trial program in style with a community ride to the renowned Watts Towers. We also announced a program geared towards easing mobility access for low-income riders, wherein qualifying participants will pay only $5 for 100 monthly LimeBike rides.
LIMEBIKE LAUNCHES FIRST DOCKLESS BIKE SHARE IN CHARLOTTE
Two days later, on the other side of the country, LimeBike became the first dockless bike sharing company to launch in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our arrival in the Queen City helped us cap a five-month journey that began back in June with our first ever inaugural ride on the campus of UNCG, and we couldn’t be more excited to establish our third market in Tar Heel State.
LIMEBIKE ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER LAUNCH IN SCOTTSDALE
To cap off the week, Thursday we announced that our dockless bikes would be arriving in Scottsdale, Arizona later this month. The impending launch marks the Grand Canyon State’s first foray into dockless bike sharing, and is a reflection of Scottsdale’s commitment to providing affordable, sustainable transportation to both its citizens and its visitors.
As the number of markets in which we operate grows, so too does our sense of accountability. LimeBike is committed to implementing a sustainable, responsible dockless bike sharing system that works for everyone - one that always places the needs of our community first. If you have questions about how we're doing just that, we'd be happy to answer them for you. Please send us a message at [email protected].
