With Barry University, LimeBike Reaches Sixth South Florida Market

LimeBike is rolling into Barry University just in time for the spring semester in Miami.
After launches in Key Biscayne, Miami Shores, North Bay Village, St Thomas University and North Miami, we couldn’t be better prepared to serve our sixth community in South Florida. The program aligns directly with the 2017-18 initiatives set by Campus Rec and Wellness, giving Buccaneers a healthy and affordable way to get from the Broad PAC to Dominican Hall and all points in between.
“8 out of 10 college students who try LimeBike choose to use it repeatedly,” said our Miami GM Gauthier Derrien, referencing LimeBike’s tendency to shape long-lasting cycling habits. “We’re excited to provide Barry with an efficient, affordable transportation option.”
Speaking of affordable, all students, faculty and staff members who attach their LimeBike account to an @barry.edu email address will ride at a 50% reduction. That means each trip to Bucky’s Cove or the School of Podiatric Medicine will only set you back $.50 - or just under half a percent of the price of a used paperback Human Resource Management textbook rental.
“Bringing LimeBike to Barry University will not only allow our students to be more mobile around campus and the greater Miami area, but it will provide a low-cost means of transportation to them as well,” said Eli Olken-Dann, director of Barry University’s Campus Recreation and Wellness. “Our students are always looking for alternative forms of exercise, and having bikes on campus will fill that need.”
To celebrate today’s launch, LimeBike is offering unlimited free rides all day (1/23/18), along with an additional 5 free rides tomorrow to all new riders signing up with an @barry.edu email address. We’re looking forward to a great first semester with the students, faculty, and staff here at Barry University. Go Bucs!
