San Diego Scooters And Bikes Set To Break 1,000,000 Ride Record

Look out, Seattle: San Diego is poised to set the record for the fastest one million dock-free rides in North America. After launching in mid-February with a full fleet of pedal bikes, e-assist bikes and electric scooters, Lime riders have already tallied up over 885,000 rides around America’s Finest City. That’s more than 34 trips around the earth!“The response to dock-free smart mobility here has been incredible,” said Zack Bartlett, Lime’s GM of San Diego. “By choosing clean, affordable transportation options like Lime nearly one million times in five months, San Diego residents are reinforcing the city’s reputation as a fun, health-conscious and technologically progressive American city.”

Unsurprisingly, trendy neighborhoods like Pacific Beach and East Village in downtown San Diego are among the most popular areas to ride around the city, accounting for nearly 25% of all trip starts and stops. There’s also a noticeable morning bump of up to 10 percentage points in trip starts within 100m of public transit stops (rail stations and bus stops), indicating that riders are using Lime to improve their morning commute! If current daily use patterns continue, San Diego will join Lime’s “two comma club” in just over a week and set a new standard for what’s possible when cities embrace electric scooter and bike rental platforms.Congratulations on this incredible upcoming milestone, and thank you for your continued support, San Diego!
