LimeBike CEO Toby Sun Caps Off Milestone Year With Spot On Recode 100

In Silicon Valley, the name Recode carries weight. It's a website that boasts some of the most respected tech journalists in the country, focused on explaining how the industry is helping to transform both the global economy and, well, the globe itself.
Which is exactly why we’re so excited to announce that LimeBike’s CEO Toby Sun was recognized Wednesday night alongside the likes of Jeff Bezos, Susan Fowler, and Elon Musk as part of the prestigious Recode 100. According to the website, the grouping constitutes “the only peer-reviewed list of leaders in tech, media, commerce and business.”
Toby’s unyielding belief in transportation that’s sustainable, affordable, and equitable has helped him stand apart as a tech leader, carrying LimeBike from an untested idea in January to the US leader in dockless bike sharing by December. His “ask permission, not forgiveness” is recognized as the standard for responsibly integrating dockless bike sharing into the communities we serve. In fact, it’s part of the reason we were awarded this year’s Smart Cities Innovation Alley award for responsibly improving the lives of citizens.
With over 30 markets already counted among our rapidly-expanding US community and $62 million in fundraising, LimeBike is poised to make 2018 a truly transformative year for urban mobility in North America and beyond - and we couldn’t have done it without the thoughtful leadership and strategic guidance of our co-founder and CEO.
Congratulations on being named one of the Recode 100, Toby!
