Lime returns to Mexico, launching sustainable transportation in Querétaro

We're thrilled to announce Lime's return to Mexico, with the launch of our e-scooter service in Querétaro! This marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to provide sustainable transportation options across the globe.
A perfect partnership
Querétaro's commitment to sustainability and innovative transportation solutions made it the ideal location for our Mexican market re-entry. We announced the launch at today's Café con Kuri event, joined by Governor Mauricio Kuri, Querétaro Mayor Felipe Fernando Macias and Mobility Agency Director Gerardo Cuanalo.

Building on global success
In 2024, Lime riders took over 175 million rides across more than 280 cities in nearly 30 countries on five continents, traveling over 234 million miles (377 million km). The global impact of Lime’s riders in 2024 is undeniable. Last year, riders around the globe avoided 20K metric tons of Co2 emissions, spared 2.2M gallons of gas (8.5M liters) from being consumed and replaced over 43M car trips with two-wheeled, emissions-free rides. This global experience, combined with our local expertise, positions us perfectly to serve Querétaro's unique transportation needs.

Excitement from Lime leadership
"This is a landmark day for all of us at Lime, as we have long hoped to return to Mexico," says Wayne Ting, CEO of Lime. "We are thrilled to be in a place financially and operationally where we can successfully show cities in Mexico, starting with Querétaro, how shared micromobility can help build a sustainable transportation future."
Johann Schmidt, our Government Relations Lead, adds: "Cities in Mexico are global leaders in many areas of transportation and Lime is thrilled that they are now looking to shared micromobility to round out transportation systems that will rival cities around the world."
