Lime’s New York Bike Share Riders Are Already Posting Massive Numbers

Upstate or downstate, the results are the same: one month into Lime’s arrival, New York bike share riders are posting some seriously impressive numbers.See for yourself.
BIKESHARE IN YONKERS
On Monday morning, Lime celebrated our launch in Westchester County. By Friday, riders in Yonkers had already amassed over 3,000 rides, including 1,000+ rides on Wednesday alone. That trip-per-bike-per-day ratio places this moderately-sized community of 200,000 among the top performing bikeshare cities anywhere in the U.S.“Lime has become instantly popular with Yonkers residents and visitors,” said Gil Kazimirov, Lime’s regional general manager.“We are seeing outstanding ridership-- some of the highest usage of our bikes in such a short amount of time. The most exciting part is that this is happening in a very hilly city!”
BIKESHARE IN ITHACA
Farther west along the southern shores of Cayuga Lake, riders in Ithaca, NY are recording similarly compelling stats. One month after Lime’s launch, the bike-friendly Upstate community has already:
- Registered 4,300 individual riders, or almost 15% of the local population
- Ridden 7,200 miles
- Saved nearly 7,000 pounds of CO2
Thanks to the leadership of our community partner Bike Walk Tompkins, Ithaca plans to install 100+ dockless and personal bike parking spaces. BWT will also be providing riders with a limited number of free helmets at their location inside the Dewitt Mall to help promote safe cycling habits."The City of Ithaca and Bike Walk Tompkins have created a working group to not only support 10,000 Lime rides in a month’s time, but are following through with their vision of sustainability that decreases congestion and adds more convenient and affordable mobility options to their city,” said Jeff Goodmark, Lime’s locally hired GM of operations. We’re excited to continue serving the citizens of New York, and look forward to tens of thousands of more rides to come in the near future! To bring Lime’s fleet of smart mobility vehicles to your community, send us a message at [email protected].
