We spoke with Simon Höhner, Managing Director, for a fireside Q&A.
Can you give us a brief overview on what you do?
Höhner: For 100 years, we have been actively promoting road safety through our campaigns and activities. Our focus is on vulnerable road users - from kindergarten children to senior citizens.
How do you measure the impact of your work?
Höhner: Our work is focused on prevention, which is hard to measure. For us, what matters is achieving VisionZero. Until we get there, our mission keeps us engaged and motivated.
What is your favorite part about Verkehrswacht Düsseldorf e.V.?
Höhner: The diversity of the individual target groups and the great opportunity to make society safer.
What is the biggest obstacle Verkehrswacht Düsseldorf e.V. faces?
Höhner: Shaping tomorrow's mobility with today's resources.
What's ahead for Verkehrswacht Düsseldorf e.V. in 2024?
Höhner: This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Verkehrswacht. Some very special events are planned.

Höhner: From the westernmost part of Düsseldorf, Heerdt, along the Rhine towards the Rheinkniebrücke bridge.

Höhner: The collaboration on a thematic basis and the will to do things in a better way.
