In Durham, Cyber Monday Brings The Dockless Bike Sharing Revolution

Durham, NC is waking up to a lot more than Cyber Monday discounts.

Beginning today, Bull City residents will be able to access LimeBike’s award-winning dockless bike sharing service throughout the city. The launch marks our latest expansion into the Tar Heel State, fresh off of a highly-publicized release in Charlotte earlier this month.

With a fleet of 3G, GPS-enabled smart bikes strategically located in neighborhoods from Brightleaf to Rockwood, LimeBike’s local field ops team will be able to deliver valuable mobility data to local officials while providing Durham citizens with a sustainable, affordable alternative to driving that costs nothing to implement.

“Whether catching a Durham Bulls game or traveling to one of Durham’s many diverse communities, locals and visitors will now be able to rely on LimeBike as their sustainable, convenient transportation option,” says Sidney McLaurin, LimeBike’s General Manager for North Carolina. “We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Durham, Charlotte, and other neighboring cities to improve urban mobility and transportation for all of North Carolina.”

To celebrate the launch, we're offering new riders in Durham their first five rides completely free. The program officially kicked off at 11am today at CCB Plaza in downtown Durham.
